What do I do if my electric oven has stopped working?

If your oven is not functioning properly, it's essential to identify and resolve the issue promptly. There can be several reasons for an oven malfunction. Below, we’ve outlined some common causes and solutions.

My electric oven won’t operate; what should I do?

If your appliance won’t operate, consider the following possibilities:

    • Mains Fuse: The mains fuse may be defective or tripped. Check your fuse box and replace or reset any blown fuses as necessary.
    • Control Panel: If the buttons or knobs on the control panel are unresponsive, the key lock function may be activated. Refer to your appliance instruction manual for guidance. If you can't find your manual, you can download it here. Please note that only certain models include a key lock feature.

My oven’s light won’t turn on; what should I do?

If the oven light is not functioning, the lamp may be defective and need replacing. For instructions on how to replace the oven light, please consult your appliance manual. Additionally, check to see if there’s power in your home by ensuring your circuit is functional and inspecting the fuse box.

My oven won’t heat up; what should I do?

    • Ensure your oven is set to the appropriate cooking function and temperature for your recipe.
    • If your model has a timer, verify that it is set correctly according to the instructions in your manual.
    • For models equipped with a Minute Minder (mechanical timer), ensure the dial is in manual mode, usually indicated by a “hand” or “infinity” symbol.
    • Again, check for power in your home and reset the fuses if needed.

If you’ve tried the above steps and your oven is still not working, please contact Blomberg Customer Service at 0333 207 9710 for assistance.
