If you have an induction hob in your cooker, it’s essential to use induction-compatible pans for optimal performance. Induction hobs generate heat using magnetic currents, which means that without a magnetic material, heat cannot transfer effectively from the hob to the cookware.
Identifying Compatible Pans
Induction-compatible pans can typically be recognised by the induction symbol, which looks like a coil (see image below). You can also conduct a simple test: place a magnet on the bottom of the pan. If the magnet sticks, the pan is suitable for use on an induction hob. Additionally, make sure that the entire cooking surface of the hob is covered by the pan for efficient heat transfer.
Potential Issues with Your Induction Hob
If you're using the right pans but your induction hob still isn't functioning, the child lock feature may be activated. To disable the child lock, press and hold both the cleaning lock key and the stop-and-go key at the same time until you hear two signal sounds. For further details, consult your instruction manual. If you can't find your manual, you can easily download it here.
