How to unlock an induction hob?

Did you know that Blomberg induction hobs come equipped with three different locking features designed for safety and convenience? With a cleaning lock, child lock, and key lock, our induction hobs help ensure a secure cooking environment. Depending on your specific model, the instructions for activating and deactivating these locks may differ. Below is a general guide to help you understand how these lock features work. For precise instructions, please refer to your appliance’s user manual.

    Cleaning Lock

The cleaning lock is designed to pause all key functions for 20 seconds while the hob is on, allowing you to clean the surface safely. During this time, the appliance won’t draw power from the cooking zones.

How to activate/deactivate the cleaning lock:

    • Touch and hold the cleaning lock button when any cooking zone is active until you hear a signal sound.
    • The hob will display a 20-second countdown, during which no other keys will function, except the on/off key.
    • The lock will automatically deactivate after 20 seconds, signalled by an audio alert.
    • To manually deactivate it sooner, touch and hold the cleaning lock button again until you hear another signal.

    Child Lock

When the cooking zones are off, the child lock can be activated to prevent children from turning on the hob. This feature can only be activated when the hob is in standby mode.

How to activate/deactivate the child lock:

    • To activate, press and hold both the cleaning lock and stop-and-go buttons simultaneously until you hear a signal.
    • The letter "L" will appear on the display, indicating the child lock is active.
    • To deactivate, press and hold the same buttons again until you hear two beeps. The "L" will blink and disappear, confirming the lock is off.

    Key Lock

The key lock ensures that no settings are accidentally changed while the hob is in use. This function locks the controls, but the hob will continue to operate.

How to activate/deactivate the key lock:

    • Touch and hold both the cleaning lock and stop-and-go buttons until you hear a single signal sound. A decimal point will appear above the lock key.
    • While the key lock is active, only the on/off button will work. If you switch the hob off, you will need to deactivate the lock to turn it on again.
    • To deactivate the key lock, press and hold the same buttons until two signal sounds are heard. The "L" will blink and disappear from the display.

For more information on how to use the lock features on your Blomberg induction hob, please consult your appliance manual.
