What type of pans should I use on a ceramic hob?

To keep your Blomberg ceramic hob in top condition and easy to clean, it's essential to choose the right cookware. We recommend using heavy gauge coated aluminium or hard anodised stainless-steel pans with a thick base for the best performance. These materials offer even heat distribution and reduce the risk of damaging the hob surface.

You can also use high-quality enamel on steel or cast-iron pans but be cautious—these can sometimes scratch the glass surface of the hob. If you're using cast iron, ensure the base is smooth and avoid dragging the pan across the surface.

While heat-resistant glass containers, such as those made from Pyrex or Borosilicate glass, can sometimes be used, ensure that they are specifically designed for hob use. Most glass containers are intended for oven use only and using them on the hob could cause cracking or damage.

It’s important to avoid cookware made from exposed aluminium or copper bases, as these materials can leave a residue on the hob, making it harder to clean and potentially damaging the surface over time.
